Classic perfection and modern entrepreneurial badass are two titles that can be tough to imagine being simultaneously embodied in one woman – but Aerin Lauder might be one of the most impressive businesswomen we’ve ever seen. In a number of interviews, Aerin has referenced her grandmother (the legendary Estée Lauder) as her primary business inspiration – and for good reason. Estée and her husband founded the $26.5 Billion empire in 1953 that still continues to deliver premium cosmetics to women across the globe more than half a century later. As designer and CEO of Aerin.com (her own styled line), Style and Image Director for the Esteé Lauder Companies, mother of two, and wife to the co-founder of Searchlight Capital Partners Eric Zinterhofer, Aerin has followed in Estée’s fashionable footsteps. Aerin.com is a must visit for fashion fiends and interior designers alike – the line’s shoes and accessories collection rivals some of the bigger designer labels in both form and construction, and the decor items and custom furniture are uniquely swoon-worthy.
Known for her family and her career, Aerin is also world renown for her classic style and innovative modernization of traditional luxury. Recently featured in Elle Decor (as well as Town and Country, obviously), Aerin describes her personal taste as “heritage with a twist” – and browsing through the image gallery, we can’t help but fall for her iconic home designs and stylistic choices. Her Manhattan town home oozes with simple designs in luxurious patterns, and her East Hampton home is preppy perfection at its finest. Our absolute favorite aspect of both abodes? “Delicate hand-painted wallpaper panels by Gracie, similar to those that appear in her Manhattan jewel-box dressing room in—what else?—shades of pale blue and white, inspired by her grandmother.” Take a peek at our favorite images below, and click through to check out the full gallery on Elle Decor – prepare to drool.
